PUMPKIN PUREE

First start with a big pumpkin

Cut pumpkin into quarter pieces or what ever will fit on your baking sheet.

Oven should be preheated to 350 degrees

Put the pumpkin pieces on your baking sheet covered with parchment paper . Put into preheated oven
350 degrees for about 1 hour or until you see liquid from pumpkin pooling onto parchment paper.

Remove from oven to cool on rack. Either peel off the pumpkin skin while hot or when slightly cooled. I find the skin easier to pull off the pumpkin slices when hot.

Mash the pumpkin pieces include any juices surrounding the pumpkin as this makes the pumpkin smoother when blending.

Once smashed down put into food processor to blend til smooth

Then pour into large ziploc bags with date put on just in case you do not use up all the pumpkin and there are leftover. And into the freezer

We make enough pumpkin to last us til the next season . Check out the price for canned pumpkin from store versus your cost of making your own pumpkin puree. There is a big savings and your pumpkin puree has no preservatives added.

Two people working together as a team helps speed the process and you have each other for company .
