Dec.7, 2010 PUPPIES 4 WEEKS OLD with the highlights, time to WEAN with the whelping box becoming a very BUSY BOX to be in.

Puppies no longer content to stay in the whelping box. Love to spend time out of the box even if it means sleeping on a cold tarp / paper versus the soft, fluffy vet bed in the box.

Thought this was cute....two weim puppy heads side by side.

Or these pups curled around each other.

There is always a loner.

This is the last time Rose will have to be in the whelping box. Time to wean the puppies. As you can see this is still a much enjoyed activity

Lots of pushing and shoving to get at that nipple.

You have to be assertive or you get squeezed out very quickly and effectively.

Then there is the odd pup who likes to chew on your tail or leg as purple boy is doing.

Mom trying to do her duty of cleaning the pups as they mull around playing with each other or visit the milk bar.

The whelping box becomes a very hot box with lots of action taking place.

This pup does not want any part of Mom's tongue on him.

When the pup does not co-operate and bites Mom this is her reaction. Mom reprimands the pup

who is taken back but does not stop.

Mom continues on her task regardless of the disobedient pup.

The pups of course take each other on chewing on each others paws or legs.

Rose being a good Mom continues her cleaning up duty while the pups squirm or bite at her or simply succumb to her persistent licks.

This pup is determined to reach the towel which he eventually does in the end.

Pups other meal which is to become the only one starting tomorrow. No more Mom's milk.

Pups in a basket. Not an easy task to get ALL looking at you or just staying in the basket. Which is why there are several of these pictures as all are different with each pup.

Am I relaxed or what! A laid back pup...

I really like this toy so good I want to eat it!
